Relax at the Spa
Around the valdichina it is possible to find 3 free-access thermal areas, which offer thermal pools and various types of treatments, ideal for spending a day of full relaxation for body care.
The most famous spa areas are "Terme di Rapolano", "Terme di San Giovanni" and "Bagni S. Filippo", all reachable in a maximum of 30 minutes by car.
Body care lovers can also find various Spa centers spread throughout the Arezzo area.
Fans of hot baths and spa treatments can find, in Rapolano spas, two large spas ideal for spending a relaxing day and enjoying the beneficial properties of thermal waters.
The center of "L'antica Querciolaia" is the largest of the two and offers various thermal pools and a wide variety of treatments and massages.
The other center, "Terme di San Giovanni", is a little smaller, but offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and a good amount of spa treatments.
Lovers of unspoiled nature can find a unique show in San Filippo. In San Filippo, a small village in Sienese, there is both a famous spa for a fee and an outdoor place called "Fosso Bianco" from which hot water flows at 38-40 degrees particularly rich in minerals, where you can immerse yourself for free between nature and the forest that surrounds them.
The White Ditch is easily located entering the village, there is no shortage of signs. After a small walk in the pine forest you immediately come across some white, limestone walls: it is the first sign of the approach of the tanks. After this first wall there is a small river, passing which you can go down towards the "White Whale" and the "white ditch" or climb to the right finding the first 2 pools of hot water (little known and therefore less crowded!). Going down, after just over 5 minutes of walking you will find a spectacle of nature: a rocky wall completely covered with limestone with 3-4 natural tanks of hot water and related waterfalls.
Of course the pools are often full of people (they are still free spas...), so to avoid ressa it is advisable to go early in the morning on weekends, or during the week (for those who can!).
